EIT Food Summer School

on New Product Development

General information

25 participants from different backgrounds and countries will come together to gain knowledge of the tools, techniques, and methodologies used in the process of new product development (NPD) in the food industry. After eight days of not only listening, but also experiencing the practical application of  these tools and techniques in a simulated environment, our participants will be ready to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control the projects aimed at the development and marketing  of new products and services, as well as to introduce innovations to the market in the food industry.

The Summer School is an international event. All communication will be in English. Participants are expected to be fluent in English.

The EIT Food Summer School on NPD does not charge a tuition fee!

We’re targeting professionals from small and medium sized companies, people connected to NPD  and  individuals  that have worked in food industry in the past or want to be a part of food sector in the future.

All candidates will be evaluated taking into account the following criteria:

  • RIS country citizen or resident
  • Professional experience
  • Connection to NPD process
  • Strong proficiency in English
  • Motivation to participate in the Summer School on NPD

The Summer School is free of charge. The summer school includes free coffee/tea and lunches.

The EIT Food Summer School on NPD does not charge a tuition fee.

Travel and accommodation costs are not covered. Although, you have to make travel and accommodation arrangements yourself, we are happy to support you with accommodation search if needed.

All participants will receive a certificate at the end of EIT Food Summer School.

The Summer School is an international event. All communication will be in English.

1.    To apply for the EIT Food Summer School, you must be at least 18 years of age, when submitting your application and consider yourself a food sector professional.

2.    By applying, you agree to be available to travel to Warsaw within 12 hours before the start of the EIT Food Summer School. If you need to make other arrangements, these need to be approved beforehand by the EIT Food Summer School organizers.

3.    During the program, the following costs are covered for all participants:

  • EIT Food Summer School tuition fee, including free coffee/tea and lunches.

You are responsible for covering any additionally occurring costs that are not mentioned here (e.g. travel, accommodation, any activity engaged in during free-time, etc.).

4.    You are expected to attend and participate in all program activities organized by the EIT Food Summer School team during the program period.

5.    In order to guarantee fluid and cooperative communication among the teams and other stakeholders, you agree to the distribution of relevant professional data from your CV/LinkedIn to other parties involved in the project (such as corporate partners, other participants, coaches, etc.). This information will be handled in accordance with Polish data protection procedures.

6.    You are asked to treat any non-public knowledge you gain about the other involved parties (e.g. speakers or corporate partners) with confidentiality. This commitment shall continue following the end of the program.

7.    As part of our project marketing, you acknowledge that the EIT Food Summer School has the right to use all promotional materials, including but not limited to photographs, videos and testimonials made during the workshop weeks for future communication activities.

8.    The EIT Food Summer School is not responsible for:

  • The safety of the participants during events and activities during the program.
  • Damage to the property of a participant or damage caused by a participant to the property of the EIT Food Summer School organizers and third parties.
  • Other damages, losses, liability or injury arising out of or in any way connected with the EIT Food Summer School program.

9.    Should you accept a place in the EIT Food Summer School and fail thereafter to attend and fully participate in the activities, you agree to be responsible for any upcoming costs. This excludes cases of force majeure or illness, which will be reviewed by the EIT Food Summer School management on a case-by-case basis.

10.  The  candidates  submitted  to  EIT  Food Summer School  project  are  handled  under  confidentiality. Everybody  that  comes  in  contact  with  the  candidates  during  the  recruitment  process  is  bound  by confidentiality agreements.

11.  EIT Food Summer School participants retain full and exclusive ownership  of  their  intellectual  property  rights.  The  organizers and  their  authorized  representatives  in  the  project  undertake  to  ensure  the  confidentiality  of  the ideas and projects presented and developed throughout the course.

According to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (Text with EEA relevance), EIT Food Summer School on new product development for the food industry project team, implemented under Horizon 2020, kindly informs that:

1) The administrator of your data is the University of Warsaw represented by its Rector, headquartered at ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28, 00-927 Warsaw.

2) The administrator has appointed a Data Protection Officer supervising the correctness of data processing, who can be contacted via email: iod@adm.uw.edu.pl.

3) Your personal data is processed on the basis of art. 6 par. 1a. the general regulation on the protection of personal data.

4) Your personal data is processed in order to carry out the project: ” EIT Food Summer School on new product development for the food industry „, whose aim is to recruit and select the best candidates for Summer School on NPD, which will be held at University of Warsaw from 25th August to 1st September 2018.

6) Access to your data is provided to the employees authorized by the data administrator.

7) Providing your personal data by yourself is voluntary, in the event of failure to do so, you will not be able to take part in the project.

8) You have the right to access your data and the right to rectify, delete and limit processing, as well as the right to object to the processing.

9) You have the right at any time to withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data by sending a message to the following address: summerschool@wz.uw.edu.pl.

10) Your personal data will be stored until your consent to the processing of data is revoked by you.

12) You have the right to lodge a complaint to the President of the Office for the Protection of Personal Data if you decide that the processing of your personal data violates the regulations of the General Regulation.

13) Unless you revoke your consent, your personal data will be stored for the period of 5 years.
