Faculty of Management

Faculty of Management (FoM), University of Warsaw is the oldest management school in Poland. It was originally established in 1972 in the course of political modernization of the non-market economy, when skills in areas such as project planning, team management, negotiations or intrapreneurship were perceived as necessary to successfully transfer and implement Western technologies and improve the performance of state-owned enterprises. After the economic transformation of 1989, FoM became the leading management school in Poland, benefiting from its previous ties with key European and US business schools, and letting the emerging managerial and entrepreneurial classes get in touch with up-to-date management knowledge. In the 1990s, FoM lecturers participated in a special knowledge transfer program, established by Harvard Business School, Kellogg Management School of Northwestern University, Sloan Management School of MIT, Stanford University and Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, which helped improve course curricula, teaching materials, didactic methods and contents of the education.
FoM has the “A” scientific category based on the governmental evaluation of research institutions, which confirms the research excellence, internationalization and relations with the business community. FoM studies in management, finance and accounting have national accreditations, and the quality of its MBA program was confirmed by the international AMBA accreditation. FoM is also member of AACSB, EFMD and CEEMAN.
FoM has its campus in the southern part of Warsaw, close to the international airport, with spacious, modern buildings, surrounded by well-maintained gardens. Its buildings are fully covered by wireless networks, equipped in multimedia facilities, with dedicated computer laboratories, specialist software and databases, extensive traditional and electronic libraries, and own sport facilities.
The Faculty has over 6,000 students, attending bachelor, master, doctoral, post-graduate and MBA programs, both full-time and part-time. It has an extensive network of international partners, both through the Erasmus network and bilateral exchange and R&D co-operation programs. FoM offers joint degrees in selected programs with universities from the USA, Germany, China and South Korea. Large number of students from all continents study in English-language programs at various levels, as well as carry out doctoral or post-doctoral research.
Its Executive MBA program belongs to the longest-running MBA studies in Poland, conducted fully in English and conferring its graduates prestigious, internationally validated degrees.
