Monika Mizielińska-Chmielewska successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, concerning diffusion of innovations based on the case of interactive television, prepared under the supervision of Prof. Krzysztof Klincewicz at TiMO. Dr. Mizielińska used the model of diffusion of innovations by Everett M. Rogers and applied it to the emerging domain of interactive multimedia, combining the transmission of image and sound with direct involvement of viewers, and thus incorporating the customer feedbacks into the television offering. Her research project consisted of qualitative and quantitative elements: in-depth interviews with experts, outlining the characteristics of innovation, affecting its diffusion rates, and a large-scale representative survey of TV viewers, supporting the statistical verification of the identified regularities.
