The University of Warsaw introduced new by-laws governing the patenting of employee invention and technology transfer practices, and in March 2011, Krzysztof Klincewicz was appointed as the Rector’s Deputy in charge of Intellectual Property Management. His tasks include an oversight of technology patenting and commercialization practices of the University. This role is an opportunity to use in practice the knowledge and skills related to the area of innovations and technology management. The introduction of new legal regulations involved extensive awareness campaign at the University, and preparation of tools and procedures to raise the number of patent applications, identify potential customers and conduct negotiations with foreign licensees.
